AWOLNATION Returns with Sophomore Album ‘Run’ & New Music

AWOLNATION fans, the wait is over! After dominating airwaves with the massive release of Megalithic Symphony in 2011, the band has announced that their highly-anticipated sophomore album Run will be released on March 17 via Red Bull Records.

Following a whirlwind two-year world tour in support of Megalithic Symphony, 2014 saw AWOLNATION withdraw into the depths of the California coastline to construct the sophomore effort. A culmination of the years following the release of the debut album, the 14-track Run, was written, performed and produced entirely by musical architect Aaron Bruno. The end result is a finely tuned musical masterwork that is at times, and all at once, sprawling, atmospheric, exuberant, earnest and refined with moments of a signature aggressive unease.

“There is not one second on the record that hasn’t been thoughtfully placed,” said Bruno. “Every single element serves a purpose.”

It’s that level of dedication that inspired the music video for “Hollow Moon (Bad Wolf),” the first single off Run. Directed by Haylee Young, the Seattle-filmed music video was shot in one take with Aaron Burno and over two dozen extras. Throughout the video Aaron is shown walking through an every-changing crowd while chanting the addictive hook, “Ima make a deal with the bad wolf so the bad wolf don’t bite no more.”

This single is a worthy contender to match the success of “Sail,” the chart-topping anthem that launched Aaron Bruno’s career as AWOLNATION. It won’t be long until you hear “Hollow Moon” on your local radio station as it climbs its way up the Billboard Charts and pre-sales for Run begin to explode.

It doesn’t just stop with “Hollow Moon (Bad Wolf)” either. Just wait till you hear the cinematic “Jailbreak,” the soaring anthem “I Am,” the title track “Run,” the euphoric “Windows,” the painfully vulnerable “Headrest for My Soul,” and the atomic rebellion of “KOOKSEVERYWHERE!!!!”

Run‘s got a lot of hype to live up to thanks to the success of Megalithic Symphony.

Released in 2011, the band’s gold-certified debut album was an alternative music revelation that became an astonishing success resonating with fans around the world. Megalithic Symphony holds a number of long-running Billboard chart positions including 146 weeks on the Independent Albums chart, 111 weeks on the Billboard Top 200, 105 weeks on the Top Rock Albums chart and has topped the Heatseekers Albums chart several times over.

The album’s redefining global anthem “Sail” sold over six million singles in the U.S. and became the second longest charting song in the Billboard Hot 100’s 55-year history.

AWOLNATION’s explosion onto the music scene was felt across the globe with “Sail” going multi-platinum all across Europe, Canada and Australia. The single amassed hundreds of millions of video views and streaming plays online and topped Billboard’s Rock Streaming Songs chart in 2014.

Following the success of “Sail,” the band would go on to chart two more alternative singles, “Not Your Fault” and “Kill Your Heroes,” selling over a million downloads combined.
