As I Lay Dying’s Tim Lambesis Faces Court Over Murder Plot

Tim Lambesis, frontman of the Grammy-nominated Christian metal band As I Lay Dying, has been accused of hiring a hit man to kill his estranged wife, Meggan Lambesis. He is currently facing a court hearing to see if he will stand trial.

The singer allegedly approached a man at a gym on April 23 and asked him if he knew of anyone who could kill his wife because she was making it difficult for him to visit their three adopted children and she wouldn’t go through with their divorce.

The prosecutors claim Lambesis gave the man an envelope with $1,000 cash, his wife’s address and gate codes, pictures of her, and the dates he would have the children, which would serve as his alibi.

Defense attorney, Thomas Warwick, claims his client had been using steroids for body building, which have negatively affected his mental state.

Lambesis was arrested on May 7 in Oceanside, CA, but has been out on $2 million bail. He has been ordered to wear a GPS monitor and to stay away from his estranged wife and their three adopted children.

Lambesis has pleaded not guilty to solicitation for murder. If he is convicted, he could face up to nine years in prison.

The band As I Lay Dying formed in 2000 and have released six albums. The single “Nothing Left” from their 2007 album “An Ocean Between Us” was nominated for a Grammy for top metal performance.
