Angelina Jolie (37) is now hooked on E.L. James’ erotic novel 50 Shades of Grey after reading the book on the set of her new film. The ‘Maleficent’ actress has expressed interest in playing the role of 22 year old college student Anastasia Steele in the upcoming film adaptation of the New York Times best-selling novel.
A source told the UK’s Daily Mirror newspaper: “Angelina kept hearing about the book while she was in the UK. All the girls on set were talking about it and how it’s being made into a film.
“Angelina went out and bought herself a copy, thinking she’d love a part in the hot topic on everyone’s lips at the moment. She knows the film is bound to be a huge hit.
“Ange is dead-set on a major part. She’s up for the challenge.”
Emma Watson (22), Katie Cassidy (25) and Scarlett Johansson (27) have all shown interest in playing the role of Anastasia Steele.
