American Pop Hall Of Fame Annoucnes Nominees

The American Pop Hall Of Fame opening up in Cannonsburg, Pennsylvania announced its first round of nominees to be inducted.

Cannonsburg ,”small town music capital” of America just outside of Pittsburgh, announced a list of the 40 nominees of pop music between 1946 to 1975 to be inducted in the American Pop Hall of Fame. Eligible artist must have had a national hit between 1946 to 1975. Artist like Elvis Presley, Frank Sinatra and The Beatles are nominated. Other classic American pop artist on the list nominated include Tony Bennett, Neil Diamond, The Beach Boys and Simon and Garfunke.

Fans and people who are in the music industry can vote for their favorite nominees online starting later this week. Voters can also pick their top five songs given from a list of 100 released between 1966-1975 that best define that generation that will later be finalized by Hall of Fame selection panel. The final 20 candidates from the list of 40 will be inducted in May 2013, and schedule to open the Pop Hall of Fame later that July at a temporary location of whats now currently a cafe in Cannonsburg. Fundraising has begun to build a permanent building later on that year for The American Pop Hall of Fame.
