20 Days Until ACL: Song of the Day “We Are The People”

Only 20 days until the Austin City Limits Festival!

One of the bands I am VERY excited to see is Australia’s Empire of the Sun.

Their sound has been described as electro-psychedelic. Their debut album won 7 ARIA awards, Australia’s equivalent of the Grammys, most notably for Album of the Year. They were also nominated for two Brit awards including Best International Album and Best International Act.

LA Weekly described their live show like this: “Empire Of The Sun delivered…what-tha fantasy spectacle that was Cirque du Soleil, It’s a Small world and H.R. Pufnstuf all rolled into one..”

I saw the band in Los Angeles last year- that is a very accurate description.
