Even though Man of Steel has only been in theaters for a month, Russell Crowe, who plays Superman’s biological father Jor-El in the new film, is already being asked by fans if he would return for a prequel centered around Superman’s home planet Krypton.
Crowe responded to his legion fans via twitter, “A lot of you are asking about a KRYTON prequel, if that’s something you feel strongly about let @Legendary pictures know your thoughts.”
Since the film’s release four weeks ago, Man of Steel has earned $586.8 million worldwide. The film set the June record for highest-opening weekend with $125.1 million.
Due to the film’s substantial success as the box office, the possibility of a sequel is pretty high (especially with Christopher Nolan on board). Recent reports have suggested pre-production on a Man of Steel sequel could start as early with this year, with filming beginning in 2014.
