Will Ferrell Joins Kristen Wiig For ‘A Deadly Adoption’
Lifetime’s dramatic thriller A Deadly Adoption, starring comedians Will Ferrell and Kristen Wiig, has released its full-length trailer.
The new clip depicts Ferrell and Wiig as a successful married couple who house and care for a pregnant woman (90210’s Jessica Lowndes) during the final months of her pregnancy with the intentions of adopting her unborn child.
Lowndes’ character is suddenly shown to have ulterior motives, ominously stating to Wiig’s character her desire to live in a “town like this with a family like [hers].”
Written by ex-SNL writer Adam Steele and directed by Rachel Lee Goldenberg, whose credits include Lifetime movies Escape From Polygamy and Love at the Christmas Table, A Deadly Adoption appears to be a parody of a typical Lifetime TV movie. The trailer is full of dramatic tunes, shots of a perfect family gone awry and an eerie tagline: “the birth of a plan gone wrong.” Not to mention that the film is inspired by a true story.
Lifetime’s A Deadly Adoption will premiere Saturday, June 20th at 8/7c. Watch the new trailer below!
