‘Who Framed Roger Rabbit’ Star Bob Hoskins Dies At 71

Actor Bob Hoskins, best known for his role as Edward “Eddie” Valiant in the animated hit movie “Who Framed Roger Rabbit,” has died at the age of 71 following a battle with pneumonia.

His family released a statement saying, “We are devastated by the loss of our beloved Bob. Bob died peacefully at hospital last night surrounded by family, following a bout of pneumonia. We ask that you respect our privacy during this time and thank you for your messages of love and support.”

Hoskins also had roles in films including “Hook,” “The Long Good Friday,” “Mermaids,” and “Super Mario Bros.”

The English actor last appeared in the 2012 movie “Snow White and the Huntsman” as the character Muir.

Hoskins retired in 2012 after he was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 2011.

He is survived by his children, Alex and Sarah with his first wife Jane Livesey and Rosa and Jack with his current wife Linda Banwell.
