New Line and Warner Bros. new film, We’re The Millers, is already winning the box office race with a projected gross of $7 million, placing the comedy on a course to earn $35 million by Sunday.
Directed by Rawson Marshall Thurber, the comedy follows a veteran pot dealer who creates a fake family as part of his plan to smuggle a large shipment of marijuana out of Mexico and into the United States. The stars that make up the comical family are Jason Sudeikis, Jennifer Aniston, Emma Roberts and Will Poulter.
Despite blistering critics, WB insiders believe the comedy has a shot of topping $40 million within the next five days.
Opening at No. 2 is 20th Century Fox’s sequel Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters, which is predicted to make $25 million, if not better.
