The latest trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens debuted today and it was as if millions of voices suddenly cried out in pure joy.
The new trailer, the first to be released since November of last year, gives us a great look at a return to Tatooine, X-Wings and Tie Fighters in action, and also the first glimpse at some familiar faces not seen since Return of The Jedi.
With the return of John Williams as composer the trailer feels like a long desired transition in the Star Wars universe after the fall of The Empire. With fellow nerd J.J. Abrams directing the project is definitely displaying an image of quality with an aim to return to the esteemed standard set by the original trilogy that took somewhat of a hit with the prequel trilogy.
It’s now clear that the protagonist of the film is the daughter of Luke Skywalker, Rey, as evident by the implications of the voice over from Luke himself.
Star Wars: The Force Awakens opens in theaters December 18, 2015.
