Watch: Jake Gyllenhaal And Ryan Reynolds In Space Thriller ‘Life’

“This nation will continue to be a pioneer in the new frontier of space.” This was said by President John F. Kennedy during his famous 1962 “moon speech” at Rice University. It is the concluding audio as part of the first advertisement for the upcoming space thriller Life, starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Ryan Reynolds.

A large, single cell organism has been discovered in space and it is brought aboard the International Space Station for examination. Proof of life beyond the confines of Earth is the primary objective of this space mission and it looks to be a success…until the organism attacks a scientist (Ariyon Bakare). With each passing minute the organism grows more intelligent and more deadly. Now the six-member crew go from a race for discovery to a race for survival.

Life is the latest film from Daniel Espionsa (Safe House, Child 44), working from a script by Paul Wernick & Rhett Reese (the duo responsible for the horror-comedy Zombieland). Besides Gyllenhaal and Reynolds, the film also stars Rebecca Ferguson, Hiroyuki Sanada, and Olga Dihovichnaya.

Columbia Pictures and Skydance will drop the space thriller during the 2017 summer movie season on Memorial Day weekend (May 26).
