The first trailer for the Hank Williams biopic I Saw the Light has been released and gives a glimpse of Williams’ troubled personal life during his rise to fame.
Tom Hiddleston portrays Williams, and Elizabeth Olsen plays his wife Audrey Mae. The trailer depicts the country legend’s struggles with alcohol abuse and infidelity.
“Boy, I’m a professional at making a mess out of things,” Hiddleston’s character says in the trailer. “Everybody has a little darkness in ’em.”
The teaser also provides a few snippets of Hiddleston’s singing voice. Hiddleston recorded Williams’ songs and plays them in the film himself.
The film is currently slated to be released March 25th, 2016, and will go against Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2 at the box office.
