Vin Diesel Confirms ‘Fast & Furious’ Final Trilogy

The Fast & Furious franchise already has seven films, but it looks like there will be a few more.

Vin Diesel took to Facebook today to discuss the rumors of who would be directing the eighth film after it was reported by the Hollywood Reporter that Diesel, one the the saga’s producers, is difficult to work with. Sources claim that Diesel held up production by questioning tiny details and had late-night script sessions. Furious 7 director James Wan turned down the opportunity to direct the eighth installment, despite the offer of a huge paycheck, since production for the seventh film affected his health which is reportedly partly due to the trouble of working with Diesel.

Diesel’s post also confirmed that there will be three more films in the series, bringing the total of Fast & Furious films to ten. Diesel did not deny the allegations made against him in the article, but did state that he would not be directing the next film.

The fans of the Fast & Furious SAGA are the best fans in the world… Since I became the Producer in 2008, you have been with me every step of the way… literally giving me feedback that proved invaluable. Thank you.
My producing partner Neal would love for me to just sign off on a director, but this is too special a franchise, so these matters have to be very carefully handled. To be clear, NO ONE has been offered to helm Fast 8 yet… let alone seen a script.
Universal has been so good to me and so trusting of the vision… they have been like family… I promised the studio I would deliver one last Trilogy to end the saga.
