“The suspense is terrible, I hope it will last… WONKA.” Chalamet captioned the post, quoting Gene Wilder’s famous line from the original movie musical in 1971.

About ‘Wonka’

Unfortunately, the plot of Wonka currently remains underwraps. However, the Warner Bros. prequel will focus on Willy Wonka’s early life. Therefore, the film will take place before the events of Dahl’s 1964 novel “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.” The film is also to include musical numbers written by The Divine Comedy’s Neil Hannon.

The upcoming prequel will be directed by Paul King. He has also co-written the film alongside Simon Farnaby. Additionally, Sally Hawkins and Rowan Atkinson will star. Moreover, actors Olivia Colman and Jim Carter will join. Excitingly enough, the film is scheduled to release March 2023.

Who is Timothée Chalamet

Chalamet is best known as Elio Perlman in the 2017 drama Call Me by Your Name. Furthermore, he was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Actor for his performance. Some of his other performances included his roles in Little Women and Beautiful Boy. More of his credited work included Interstellar and upcoming film Dune.

In the meantime, rewatch the classic! Because you will not want to miss this iconic prequel.
