Tim Burton Filming ‘Beetlejuice 2’ in 2015
Tim Burton may start filming the sequel for Beetlejuice by the end of 2015.
In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, screenwriter Seth Grahame-Smith mentioned that he has already written several drafts for the Beetlejuice sequel, and has gotten approval from Burton and Michael Keaton. Grahame-Smith also mentioned that production for the sequel could start at the end of this year.
“I’ve emailed with Michael Keaton. I know he’s excited about the idea. I know Tim is excited about the idea,” Grahame-Smith said. “We’re waiting in the wings ready to go right after Peregrine’s wraps up. The ideal timeline is we’re really getting into it toward the end of this year.” he added.
Burton is currently in production for his latest film Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children, but Beetlejuice fans can look forward to Winona Ryder returning as Lydia who was featured in the original 1988 film. Ryder’s role has now been officially confirmed by both Burton and Grahame-Smith.
