Make it three weeks in a row for “The Hunger Games” at the number ONE spot in box office results.
Even with newcomer “American Reunion” and a re-release of “Titanic” in 3D, “Hunger Games” still managed to pull in an estimated $33.5 million. That now puts the total take for the sci-fi survival thriller at over $300 million dollars in only 17 days.
This puts “The Hunger Games” tied with “Star Wars: Episode III- Revenge of the Sith” as the sixth-fastest movie to reach that milestone.
The latest in the “American Pie” movie series, “American Reunion,” followed in second with an estimated $21.5 million, followed by the re-release of “Titanic” in 3D in third which made an estimated $17.4 million.
