‘The Lego Movie’ Tops the Box Office Again
In its second week of release, the animated family comedy The Lego Movie earned nearly $49 million, topping the box office again for Valentine’s Day weekend. The film already has earned a total of $129 million since its release.
Coming in second at the box office was romantic comedy About Last Night, starring Kevin Hart. Its opening weekend brought in $27 million and the film also received an A- cinemascore.
RoboCop placed third at the box office with $21.5 million. The science fiction action film is a remake of Paul Verhoeven’s 1987 film of the same name.
George Clooney’s war film The Monuments Men took the fourth place spot, earning $15 million for the second week of its release. That film pushed Endless Love, a romantic drama that was another remake of an 80s film, to fifth place with $13.4 million for its opening weekend.
Winter’s Tale, starring Colin Farrell and Russell Crowe, opened this weekend to a low $7.8 million and negative reviews.
