A sequel to The Inbetweeners Movie, UK’s highest –grossing box office comedy, has been confirmed and will arrive in theaters in August of next year.
The announcement was made on the show’s official Facebook page with a statement from Iain Morris and Damon Beesley, the show’s creators, that stated:
“We couldn’t be more excited to be making another Inbetweeners movie with Simon, Joe, James and Blake. Frankly it’s pathetic how much we’ve all missed each other. A new chapter in the lives of the Inbetweeners feels like the very least we can do to thank the fans for their phenomenal response to the first movie.”
While details of the sequels plot have yet to be released, rumors have suggested that the long awaited sequel will follow the group of hapless friends as they backpack across Australia. Filming will begin later this year.
The Inbetweeners television series originally ran for three seasons on E4 before the release of The Inbetweeners Movie in 2011.
