The Cannes Film Festival took place this week and one of the films that took center stage was The French Dispatch with red carpet photos of the cast flooding social media. A scene with Timothée Chalamet and Frances McDormand was released by the studio this week showcasing their acting.
The two exchange words regarding McDormand’s reason for why she appears to have been crying. Chalamet then asks her to look over his writing, resulting in a few humorous responses. Viewers may be caught off guard as the young actor hops out of the bathtub naked.
It’s based on a love letter to journalists set in an outpost of an American newspaper in a fictional city. It is brought to life a collection of stories published in “The French Dispatch Magazine”.
Judging from the trailer, it seems the film will have bounce between black an white scenes and some with color. Rounding out the star-studded cast includes Bill Murray, Owen Wilson, William Dafoe, Tilda Swinton, Edward Norton, and many more. The film’s official Twitter account posted the clip above on Tuesday morning. The French Dispatch is expected to hit theaters on October 22nd.
