It is time for it all to end. The final film in the Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy, The Dark Knight Rises, is currently under production.
Filming began on May 6, 2011 in Jodhpur, India and is expected to run through November in Pittsburgh, PA. Warner Bros. Pictures is sparing no expenses in producing this $250 million film (the filming locations and pictures prove it!).
Filming locations are said to include:
- Bucharest, Romania
- Cardington, Bedfordshire, England
- Jodhpur, India
- Los Angeles, California
- Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania (Heinz Field)
- Warner Bros. Burbank Studios
Director Christopher Nolan told the Los Angeles Times that he will not be shooting the movie in 3-D. “We want the look and feel of the film to be faithful to what has come before in the first two films,” Nolan said. “There was a large canvas and operatic sweep to ‘The Dark Knight’ and we want to make a film that will carry on with that look and feel.”
Don’t worry cinema lovers! Nolan is fully committed on using IMAX and high-definition cameras to achieve the highest quality the film deserves and movie-goers expect. ”We’re looking to do something technologically that’s never been done before,” Nolan said. “Our ambitions are to make a great movie.”
The Dark Nights Rises is expected to be released in theaters on July 20, 2012.
