The teaser trailer for Steven Spielberg’s Lincoln has been released.
“We here highly resolve that these dead shall not have died in vain — that this nation, under God, shall have a new birth of freedom — and that government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth,” the viewer hears as images of war, the American flag and the profile and backside of actor Daniel Day-Lewis as President Abraham Lincoln pass on the screen.
The sneak peek also teases the world trailer premiere date (Sept. 13), time (7 p.m. EDT) and the news that Spielberg and Joseph Gordon-Levitt will be joining a hangout immediately after the trailer’s premiere.
Based on the on the Doris Kearns Goodwin book “Team of Rivals: The Political Genius of Abraham Lincoln,” the film also Tommy Lee Jones, Sally Field and James Spader.
