‘Star Wars’ Prequel Actor Confirms ‘Rogue One’ Cameo

Looks like Princess Leia’s adoptive father will appear in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story!

Jimmy Smits appears in the Star Wars prequels Episode II: Attack of the Clones and Episode III: Revenge of the Sith as Senator Bail Organa, who became Leia Skywalker’s adoptive father. Smits confirmed on CBS’s The Talk that he will be returning to the franchise for a small appearance.

Earlier this month, when the Star Wars Celebration sizzle reel was released for Rogue One, fans spotted a character that looked like Smits. While showing a screenshot of the scene,  Talk host Julie Chen questioned him if it was indeed him.

“People got nothing better to do!” he joked at first. “There’s stuff going on in the world!”

“Can you say the word, ‘cameo?’” he added. “Can you say the words, ‘small part?’”

Rogue One takes place after Episode III: Revenge of the Sith and before Episode IV: A New Hope and follows a group of Rebel Alliance spies who try to steal the plans for the Death Star. It hits theaters December 16, 2016.
