See the First Trailer for Disney’s ‘Moana’

Disney released the first teaser trailer for its upcoming film Moana this week, marking the 56th animated feature film for the studio.

Newcomer Auli’i Cravalho voices the title character Moana Waialiki, Disney’s first Polynesian princess who goes on an adventure in the ancient South Pacific world of Oceania to search for a lost island in order to save her people. Helping her on her quest is demigod Maui, played by Dwayne Johnson.

Lin-Manuel Miranda, who won big at the Tony Awards Sunday night for his Broadway musical Hamilton, is co-composing the music for the film. In the teaser, you can hear a snippet of a song he wrote with Opetaia Foa’i and Mark Mancina called “We Know the Way.”

The teaser gives a sneak peek at Moana, Maui, and Moana’s pet sidekick, Pua. Check it out below:

Moana hits theaters Thanksgiving weekend on November 23.
