‘Ride Along 2’ Gets A Release Date

Kevin Hart and Ice Cube are returning to the big screen in Ride Along 2.

Universal has announced that the cop comedy Ride Along has a release date set. Ride Along 2 will open in theaters on Friday, January 15, 2016 over Martin Luther King Jr. weekend.

The first Ride Along film had a record-breaking opening weekend at the box office when it debuted over the MLK holiday weekend in January.The film made $48.6 million at the box office during the 4-day holiday weekend, beating the 2008 Cloverfield record of $46.1 million.

Ride Along has grossed $130 million to date domestically and stayed in the No. 1 spot for three weeks in a row.

Tim Story will return to direct the sequel to Ride Along.
