Rachel McAdams Confirmed for ‘Doctor Strange’
After months of rumors that Rachel McAdams would star in Marvel’s Doctor Strange, the actress has finally confirmed it to the Wrap.
McAdams will star alongside Benedict Cumberbatch who will take on the title role of Stephen Strange, a neurosurgeon who becomes a sorcerer. McAdams will play the female lead, but Marvel has yet to reveal which exact character she will portray.
Tilda Swinton and Chiwetel Ejiofor are also signed on for the film to play the Ancient One and Baron Mordo, respectively. Scott Derrickson will direct the film, which will reportedly begin shooting in November.
McAdams has had a busy 2015. Earlier this year, she starred in Aloha with Bradley Cooper and Southpaw with Jake Gyllenhaal. She also appeared in season two of HBO’s True Detective. She can next be seen in the drama film Spotlight, which arrives in theaters November 6, 2015.
Doctor Strange is currently set to hit theaters Nov. 4, 2016.
