Pierce Brosnan’s daughter, Charlotte, has passed away after a three year battle with ovarian cancer, People magazine reports. The 41-year-old succumbed to the disease on Friday, June 28th in London.
“On June 28 at 2 p.m. my darling daughter Charlotte Emily passed on to eternal life, having succumbed to ovarian cancer,” the former Bond actor released in a statement. “Charlotte fought her cancer with grace and humility, courage and dignity. Our hearts are heavy with the loss of our beautiful dear girl.”
This is not the first time ovarian cancer has stricken the Brosnan family. In 1991, Pierce lost his wife, Cassandra Harris, to ovarian cancer. Harris’ mother, and Charlotte’s grandmother, died from ovarian cancer as well.
Charlotte is survived by her husband Alex Smith and two children: a 14-year-old daughter and a 8-year-old son.
