Academy Award winning actor Philip Seymour Hoffman was found dead in an apartment in New York City’s Greenwich Village on Sunday morning from an apparent drug overdose.
According to police, Hoffman was found inside the apartment’s restroom around 11:30 am (EST) with a needle still stuck in his arm. Police are still on the scene and investigating.
Hoffman won an Academy Award for “Best Actor” for his potrayal of Truman Captoe in the 2005 biographical film “Capote” and has received three Academy Award nominations for “Best Supporting Actor”. He also received three Tony Award nominations for his work in live theater.
