A new poster for Spectre, the fourth James Bond film to star Daniel Craig, has been revealed and features the first look at Craig’s Bond in the film.
Notably missing is James Bond’s usual tuxedo. Instead Daniel Craig dons a charcoal turtleneck, a leather hand gun holster, with his iconic Walther PPK hand gun by his side. Could this be a clue to Spectre being in a more modest setting needing James to be supremely covert?
The title of the film, Spectre, is a reference to an enemy organization in Ian Flemming’s James Bond canon standing for Special Executive for Counter-intelligence, Terrorism, Revenge and Extortion.
The first poster and official synopsis were revealed live in December at the 007 stage at Pinewood Studio.
“A cryptic message from Bond’s past sends him on a trail to uncover a sinister organisation. While M battles political forces to keep the secret service alive, Bond peels back the layers of deceit to reveal the terrible truth behind SPECTRE.”
SPECTRE will see the return of director Sam Mendes (American Beauty) who also directed the previous James Bond film, Skyfall, which was a commercial success becoming the 14th film to gross $1 billion. Adele performed the powerful title song, Skyfall, which also won the Academy Award for Best Original Song in 2013.
Spectre opens in theaters worldwide November 6, 2015.
