Jackie stars Natalie Portman in the title role.
Fox Searchlight released a new trailer Monday for the upcoming drama Jackie, which focuses on First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis’ final days in the White House as well as her life after the tragic assassination of her husband President John F. Kennedy. The film stars Natalie Portman, Peter Sarsgaard, Billy Crudup, Greta Gerwig, John Hurt and Max Casella.
“I’ve grown accustomed to a great divide between what people believe and what I know to be real,” Portman says in the latest trailer. “There should be more horses, more soldiers … more crying, more cameras … I’m not the first lady anymore. I lost Jack somewhere. What was real? What was performance?”
The trailer also shows glimpses of the assassination and Portman wearing the iconic pink dress and pillbox hat. Many moments throughout the trailer also show Jackie’s grief and devastation from the events of November 22, 1963.
Jackie, which was directed by Pablo Larraín and written by Noah Oppenheim, is set for a limited release on December 2nd.
