New ‘Django’ Film in Production

After the success of Quentin Tarantino’s Django Unchained, Franco Nero, the Italian actor who stared in the original Django franchise, is ready to reprise the role of the gunslinger once again in Django Lives.

The film will take place in 1925, where Django has been hired as a movie consultant in Hollywood. After getting entangled with racketeers, Django is forced to flee town, where all hell breaks loose. When Nero spoke with The Hollywood Reported over a year ago, he called the film “the final chapter in Django’s story.”

With the success of Tarantino’s film, producers have hired Joe D’Augustine, a frequent collaborator with Tarantino, to direct the film.  Producers have also selected Mark Boone Junior, Noah Segan and Tomas Milian to join Nero on screen.

The release date for Django Lives has yet to be announced.
