“Mr. Peabody & Sherman” dominated the box office this weekend, beating”300″ and “Need For Speed” to earn the number one spot.
After opening in second last week, “Mr. Peabody & Sherman” earned $21.2 million in ticket sales over the weekend. The film knocked “300: Rise of an Empire” down to place, where it collected $19.1 million. “Mr. Peabody & Sherman,” which features the talking dog Mr. Peabody and his adopted boy, Sherman, can attribute it’s success to young audience members being on vacation for spring break. Next week the film will go head-to-head against Disney’s upcoming film “Muppets: Most Wanted”.
