Super Bowl XLVIII is less than two weeks away, and among the many crazy commercials about beer, cars, and chips, audiences will also be treated to a sneak peak of Hollywood’s biggest upcoming movies.
Paramount has bought a spot for Michael Bay’s new film Transformers: Age of Extinction. The commercial during the Super Bowl will be the film’s trailer premiere.
Trailers for The Amazing Spider-Man 2 have already been released by Sony, but a new trailer will air during the big game. The new trailer will most likely be a condensed version of one of its current trailers.
Lionsgate purchased a spot during the pre-game show for the upcoming Kevin Costner film Draft Day, which is set to hit theaters April 11. Another Lionsgate film, The Expendables 3, will give you a “first look” of the film during the game. The Expendables 3 features a multitude of stars, including Sylvester Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jason Statham, Mel Gibson, and Harrison Ford.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Disney is looking to buy two additional spots during the game, which will cost about $4.4 million for each 30-second commercial. It has not been confirmed, but Disney is most likely purchasing spots for Need for Speed, starring Aaron Paul, and upcoming Marvel movies Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Guardians of the Galaxy.
Other possible trailers that might be seen are Robocop, which will open 10 days after the game; X-Men: Days of Future Past, which is expected to be a big summer hit; science-fiction film Dawn of the Planet of the Apes; and Hercules starring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.
