Michael Fassbender in Talks to Play Steve Jobs
About a week and a half after it was announced that Christian Bale would be taking on the role of Steve Jobs in a new biopic about the Apple CEO, Bale dropped out of the film after deciding he was not the right actor for the part. Now, sources say Sony Pictures is in talks with Michael Fassbender to portray Jobs.
Danny Boyle will be directing the film, which is based on Walter Isaacson’s biography Steve Jobs. The Social Network’s writer Aaron Sorkin is penning the script. Sorkin previously stated that the film will be divided into three long scenes, each one taking place backstage as Jobs prepares for an Apple product launch.
“The first one being the Mac,” he told the Daily Beast. “The second one being NeXT, after he had left Apple. And the third one being the iPod.”
Leonardo DiCaprio was also previously in the running to play the late technological innovator, but passed on the project to take a break from acting.
In addition to Fassbender, Seth Rogen is currently in talks to play Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak.
