“The Wolf of Wall Street” star Margot Robbie is in talks to play Jane Porter in the upcoming Warner Bros. remake of the classic story of Tarzan.
The Australian actress ,who made her big screen debut as Leonardo DiCaprio’s wife in “The Wolf of Wall Street,” may now land the role of Jane in David Yates’ adaptation of Edgar Rice Burroughs’ “Tarzan”.
Robbie would play Jane, the love interest of Tarzan, who meets Tarzan after her family is marooned on the same coastal Jungle where Tarzan and his biological parents were trapped twenty years earlier. After losing his parents as an infant, Tarzan was raised in the African jungle by the Mangani, “great apes”.
Robbie is also in negotiations to star alongside Chris Pines in Craig Zobel’s “Z for Zachariah”. She would reportedly replace Amanda Seyfried if she is awarded the role. Sources says Robbie plans to shoot “Z for Zachariah” before filming “Tarzan”.
If chosen to play Jane, Robie would join Alexander Skarsgard, Christoph Waltz and Samuel L. Jackson on the set of “Tarzan”.
