‘Lego Movie’ Sequel Gets A Release Date

Warner Bros. has officially announced the release date for the “Lego Movie” sequel.  Released two weeks ago and topping the number 1 slot at the box office three weekends in a row, the “Lego Movie” has become one of the year’s biggest hits.

Warner Bros. announced that they will be releasing a sequel to the popular 3D computer animated film over Memorial Day weekend on May 26, 2017.  The reason for the three year gap between films is because the 3D film requires extensive animation work and development. The sequel will continue from where the first film left off and will feature the character Duplo.

To date, the “Lego Movie” has grossed more than $150 million at the box office and $23.1 million overseas. The studio has not yet announced a budget for 2017 “Lego Movie” sequel.
