Ken Jeong To Join ‘Ride Along 2’

Hangover’s Ken Jeong has joined the cast of Ride Along 2, and will star alongside returning cast members Ice Cube and Kevin Hart in an unnamed role.

Olivia Munn and Benjamin Bratt have also been reported to be joining Universal’s upcoming sequel. Munn can be seen in this week’s new supernatural thriller Deliver Us From Evil, which premiered July 2nd.

The original cop comedy, Ride Along, had a successful opening weekend, taking in $48.6 million, earning $153 million in total this year, and receiving an A CinemaScore.

Tim Story will once again return to direct the comedy, with Matt Manfredi and Phil Hay teaming up to write the script. Ice Cube, Will Packer, Matt Alvarez and Larry Brezner will produce.

The film centers on a security guard (Hart) and an Atlanta cop (Ice Cube). Munn will play a tough Miami homicide detective who is a love interest for Cube.

Ride Along 2 is scheduled to be released January 15, 2016.
