The film, taking place in the Golden Age of Hollywood, follows the story of Eddie Mannix, a 1950s Hollywood fixer who is working to keep the studio’s stars in check and out of the press.
George Clooney, Josh Brolin, Channing Tatum, Ralph Fiennes, and Tilda Swinton are all set to star in the comedy. Tatum will play one of the movie stars, with Fiennes as director and Swinton as a gossip columnist. Hill’s role is currently being kept under wraps for now.
Clooney, starring as the character Mannix, has worked with the Coen Brothers on several occasions, starring in their films O Brother, Where Art Thou?, Burn After Reading and Intolerable Cruelty.
Johansson is in early talks to join the film. According to Variety, she is said to be playing an actress who becomes pregnant right before her film is about to go into production.
Universal will distribute with the Coen Brothers producing under their Mike Zoss Productions banner, along with Eric Fellner and Tim Bevan for Working Title Films.
