The hand injury Johnny Depp suffered last month in Australia has further delayed production of Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales.
In early March, Depp injured his hand off-set in Queensland and it required him to have surgery in the U.S. Doctors then discovered he had to have a pin put in his hand.
Production for the fifth installment of the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise was originally expected to last only two weeks and have “minimal impact” on filming. However, that break will now be about four weeks as around 200 crew members for the film were reportedly told this week that they would not have work for the next two weeks. Production is expected to continue on April 15.
Fourteen more weeks of shooting remain. Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, which also stars Geoffrey Rush and Javier Bardem, is still expected to hit theaters July 7, 2017.
