Oscar and Grammy winner Jennifer Hudson will star in Adam Sandler’s upcoming Netflix movie, called Sandy Wexler, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Set in the 1990s, the film tells the story of the titular character, a talent manager (played by Sandler) working in Los Angeles, who discovers a singer named Courtney Clarke (played by Hudson) and falls in love with her.
After signing a deal to make four films for Netflix, Sandy Wexler will be Sandler’s third film he will produce via his Happy Madison Productions banner. His first two films were The Ridiculous 6 and The Do-Over.
Sandy Wexler begins shooting in August and is scheduled to debut on Netflix in 2017.
