Jason Momoa Reportedly Cast As Aquaman

According to recent reports by HitFix, Jason Momoa will appear in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice as Aquaman.

A few weeks back, Momoa, declined the rumors about his involvement claiming it was just a rumor and that “maybe [he] told someone that it would be awesome and that’s how it started.”

Warner Brothers has yet to make the official announcement, but HitFix confirms that the Game of Thrones actor will be playing Aquaman, and shooting is sure to start any time soon. Zach Snyder has already concluded his designs for the Sea King’s costume.

Henry Cavill will return as Superman, joined by Ben Affleck as Batman, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, and Diane Lane as Martha Kent.

HitFix proposes that Aquaman’s storyline will come from the fact that the World Engine caused damage to the Indian Ocean during Man of Steel’s final battle sequence which saw Superman and Zod destroy quite a bit of Earth’s terrain.

Though Momoa’s character will not have a major role in the film, the site noted that his appearance will further set up the Justice League movie, which may hit theaters in May 2017.

The plot for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice has not been disclosed at this time. It arrives in theaters May 6, 2016.
