Although reports have been circulating for months about Jason Momoa portraying Aquaman in the upcoming Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, nothing was ever confirmed in writing, until now.
In the latest September issue of Empire, the magazine confirmed that Momoa would in fact star as the human hybrid. Comic Book shared the image from the magazine, in which it read, “With superheroes popping up in this like Southampton players in the Liverpool dressing room, add another one to the mix: man-mountain Jason Momoa will be getting his Speedos on as the Atlantean a**-kicker.”
A few months back, The Hollywood Reporter was the most recent source that reported the news of the “confirmation” before Empire. Warner Bros. has yet to comment on any of the Aquaman rumors.
Momoa is best known for his role as Khal Drogo in Game of Thrones, as well as his work in the starring role of 2011’s Conan the Barbarian.
Henry Cavill will return as Superman, joined by Ben Affleck as Batman, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, and Diane Lane as Martha Kent.
Zack Snyder’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice arrives in theaters May 6, 2016.
