Former Calvin Klein model Jamie Dornan has been chosen to replace Charlie Hunnam as Christian Grey in the upcoming film adaptation of 50 Shades of Grey. Negotiations are currently underway to finalize the deal, with The Hollywood Reporter, Variety and People confirming the casting.
While most of us have never heard of Jaime Dornan before, he is quickly going to become a household name. He currently plays Sheriff Graham Humbert in the ABC series “Once Upon a Time” and previously starred in the BBC drama “The Fall”. His film work includes Sofia Coppola’s Marie Antoinette, Shadows In The Sun and the upcoming Dutch romance film Flying Home.
Dakota Johnson is still set to co-star as Dornan’s love interest, Anastasia Steel, with Sam Taylor-Johnson directing. Taylor-Johnson is best known for her directorial debut Nowhere Boy, a biopic on the childhood experiences of John Lennon.
Production for the film is expected to begin on November 1st. 50 Shades of Grey opens in theaters August 1, 2014.
