After several months of trying to find its own Kevin Fiege, DC has announced that James Gunn will co-lead DC Studios (previously titled DC Films) alongside Peter Safran.
Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav initiated a search for the studio’s new president at the beginning of 2023 with many turning down the tough job. WBD has been through several rounds of layoffs and content cancellations, as well as a mass exodus of leadership structures. The previous DC Films lead Walter Hamada exited the company just last week. The DC job opening is highly coveted, as well as highly dangerous, and Zaslav found the duo willing to charge headfirst.
