James Bond is back with Daniel Craig starring in the 23rd installment of the series entitled “Skyfall”. This will be Craig’s third film to star in the Bond franchise.
“Skyfall” will be directed by first time Bond director Sam Mendes who is best known for directing “American Beauty”, “Road to Perdition” and “Jarhead”. Mendes announced at the film’s London press conference that filming locations will include London, Shanghai, Istanbul and Scotland.
The full details of the film are being kept secret but a partial cast list was announced. Ben Winshaw “will be playing a part I can’t tell you about in scenes I can tell you nothing about,” said Mendes. “And Albert Finney, who will also be playing a part I can tell you nothing about in scenes that I can’t really tell you about and Ralph Fiennes, who, similarly, I can give you very little information about.”
The only plot line announced in the film’s press release stated, “As MI6 (British intelligence) comes under attack, 007 must track down and destroy the threat, no matter how personal the cost.”
Even though we are in a worldwide recession, Sony Pictures will spare no expense in the movie’s production. “I think it’s in the same (cost) range as the last film and we really haven’t had to change anything in the script,” says Mendes. “We haven’t had to sacrifice anything.”
“Skyfall” will hit theaters November 2012.
