‘Hunger Games’ Releases Final Poster and Trailer Preview

As the anticipation for the third installment grows, the mega successful Hunger Games saga has released its final movie poster via Facebook, and this time it features a certain Mockingjay.

Jennifer Lawrence, who plays Katniss Everdeen, the District’s chosen rebellion leader against the tyrannical Capitol, stands tall amidst raging fire as she prepares to fight with her trusted choice of weaponry – the bow and arrow.

‘Hunger Games: Mockingjay -Part 1” Releases Final Poster and Trailer Preview

The poster was released five days before the upcoming debut of the full trailer for the sequel, which will hit the web on Monday, September 15th.

Lionsgate has been using various forms of promotional campaigns in the past few weeks leading up to the films release, such as President Snow’s first and second Panem Address.

In the 15-second preview trailer, a voiceover from President Snow (Donald Sutherland) says, “Ms. Everdeen, it’s the things we love most that destroy us.” The protagonist and the District’s symbolic figure of freedom is then shown holding up a white rose, a scene straight from the book. The message is clear, that she is never out of his reach.

Alongside Lawrence and Sutherland, the film features the late Philip Seymour Hoffman as the rebel leader Plutarch Heavensbee, Julianna Moore as President Alma Coin, Woody Harrelson as Haymitch Abernathy, Liam Hemsworth as Gale Hawthorne, and Elizabeth Banks as Effie Trinket. Josh Hutcherson will be playing the brainwashed Peeta, who is led to believe that Katniss is the enemy.

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay- Part 1 will storm into theaters on November 21st. Check out the preview trailer for the film below, and let the countdown begin!
