Well, it looks like Bad Moms is a gift that keeps on giving. STX is fast-tracking a sequel to the 2016 hit comedy, and it will have a holiday theme this time around. We all know moms tend to get worked up around the holidays so a pairing of the bad moms trio and jolly St. Nick seems like a no-brainer.
A Bad Moms Christmas is eying a November 3, 2017 release.
The general premise finds Mila Kunis, Kristen Bell, and Kathryn Hahn preparing for Christmas while stressing the arrivals of their own mothers for the holidays. Jon Lucas and Scott Moore return as writers and directors. No word on who casting has in mind for the Bad Moms‘ moms.
The news of a Bad Moms sequel comes a few months after it was announced that a Bad Dads spin-off would arrive in July 2017.
The original was produced on a budget of $20 million and went on to become one of the sleeper hits of last summer, collecting more than $180 million worldwide. The holiday theme and timed release just after Halloween should be in its favor carrying over through Thanksgiving into December.
