‘Godfather’ Actor Alex Rocco Dies at 79
Actor Alex Rocco, who was known for his role as casino owner Moe Greene in The Godfather, passed away Saturday at the age of 79.
His daughter, Jennifer Rocco, announced the news on her Facebook page.
In The Godfather, his character had the well-known line of “Do you know who I am?” Rocco studied acting with the late Leonard Nimoy and made his television acting debut on Batman as a henchman in 1967. Over the past few decades, Rocco appeared in numerous films and TV series. He voiced Roger Meyers Jr. on The Simpsons and an ant in Disney/Pixar’s A Bug’s Life. He also had frequent appearances on Magic City, The Facts of Life, The Division, The George Carlin Show, Three for the Road, and Sibs. He recently guest-starred on Maron and Episodes.
In addition, he won an Emmy in 1990 for best supporting actor for his role as talent agent Al Floss on The Famous Teddy Z, a CBS comedy series that only lasted for fifteen episodes.
