Talk about an unlikely pairing. Jason Blum, the man behind the horror hits The Purge, Insidious and the upcoming Split (read our early review), has teamed with Jordan Peele (of Comedy Central’s “Key & Peele”) for what is described as a “speculative thriller” Get Out.
Universal Pictures has debuted the first trailer online, and it will be attached to the studio’s release of The Girl on the Train. See if you can make heads or tails of this hypnotizing horror release, set to open February 24, 2017.
Short Synopsis: When a young African-American man visits his white girlfriend’s family estate, he becomes ensnared in a more sinister real reason for the invitation.
Chris and Rose (Daniel Kaluuya and Allison Williams) are at the meet-the-parents stage in their relationship, so she invites him for a weekend getaway to meet the folks. Those expecting an interracial Meet the Parents from Jordan Peele get hoodwinked as his directorial debut looks for thrills, not laughs.
Rose’s parents, Missy (Catherine Keener) and Dean (Bradley Whitford), look accommodating to their daughter’s boyfriend, but as the weekend progresses a series of disturbing discoveries lead to a mysterious revelation that not even Chris could have imagined.
