First Look At Johnny Depp In ‘Pirates 5′
The first image of Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales has been revealed!
Earlier today, producer Jerry Bruckheimer released the first photo of Johnny Depp as the comical Captain Jack Sparrow.
“Captain Jack is back and we’re not letting him go,” Bruckheimer tweeted, along with the photo illustrating Depp’s character tied up by thick ropes looking undoubtedly frightened.
Production for Pirates 5 was momentarily halted when Depp injured his wrist on set during film in March. After flying back to the U.S. for surgery, the 51-year-old actor returned to Australia to continue shooting the film.
The fifth installment in the franchise will star Orlando Bloom and Geoffrey Rush, who are returning to the series, as well as newcomer Javier Bardem playing Sparrow’s nemesis Captain Salazar.
Below is the film’s official plot synopsis:
Thrust into an all-new adventure, a down-on-his-luck Captain Jack Sparrow finds the winds of ill-fortune blowing even more strongly when deadly ghost pirates led by his old nemesis, the terrifying Captain Salazar (Bardem), escape from the Devil’s Triangle, determined to kill every pirate at sea…including him. Captain Jack’s only hope of survival lies in seeking out the legendary Trident of Poseidon, a powerful artifact that bestows upon its possessor total control over the seas.
Espen Sandberg and Joachim Rønning are directing the upcoming installment, with a script penned by Jeff Nathanson.
Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales is due to arrive in theaters on July, 7th, 2017.
