Just keep swimming! The first poster for Pixar’s upcoming Finding Dory has been released.
“She just kept swimming,” read the image shared by Ellen DeGeneres, who voices the absentminded blue tang fish named Dory. DeGeneres also announced that a trailer for the family feature would be arriving on Tuesday. “It’s almost here,” she wrote. “Don’t miss the exclusive first look of Finding Dory on ellentube. Tomorrow. #justkeepswimming”
Back in 2013, the comedian revealed that she had been waiting “a long, long, long, long, long, long time” for the follow up film. “The script is fantastic. And it has everything I loved about the first one: It’s got a lot of heart, it’s really funny, and the best part is—it’s got a lot more Dory.”
The animated sequel, arriving 13 years after the fan-favorite Finding Nemo, will pick up just six months later and will feature Dory’s quest to answer questions about her past.
Finding Nemo director Andrew Stanton told the crowd at Disney’s D23 Expo in August that his idea for a sequel came from his own concern about the friendly-but-forgetful fish.
“I wanted to know that if this charming forgetful fish ever got lost again, that she would be okay, that she would find her way home,” Stanton said. “And at the end of Finding Nemo, I wasn’t confident about that. So that’s when I knew I had another story.”
Finding Dory’s voice cast includes returning star Albert Brooks (Marlin), Katlin Olson (It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia), Modern Family leads Ed O’Neill and Ty Burrell, Idris Elba (Luther), Dominic West (The Affair), Diane Keaton (And So It Goes) and Eugene Levy (American Pie).
Finding Dory swims into theaters June 17th, 2016. Check out the poster and movie trailer below!
